Martin Headman is a composer, arranger, pianist, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, lyricist and entertainer. As an honor student at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music, Headman studied under Artist-in-residence Michael Gibbs and Jazz master Gary Burton. With over thirty years of concert, club and studio experience, Martin speaks fluently through a full spectrum of musical styles.

Actively participating in the Monterey Bay music scene since 1980, Headman is currently featured at Bernardus Lodge and The Inn at Spanish Bay, which are located on California's spectacular central coast. He is also a thirty year survivor of Hodgkin's disease and one of the founding members of Stanford's internationally renowned "Surviving", a cancer patient support magazine.

He has performed in concert with Jazz greats: guitarist Bruce Forman; bassist Kyle Eastwood; cellist Fred Katz of the Chico Hamilton Quartet; flutist Tim Wiseberg; tenor saxophonist Virginia Mayhew and guitarist Russell Malone in addition to having toured with the Brubeck Brothers. A popular solo performer, Headman has opened for Taj Mahal, Dr. John, Mose Allison, Willie Dixon, Asleep At The Wheel and John Haitt.

An ASCAP award recipient from 1997 through 2011. Headman has created and published a large repertoire of compositions that are rich, inventive and timeless. Martin has released four compact discs of original music on Shubert Records: "Time & Again" and "South Point" (both feature his jazz trio); "Solo Piano" and "Should Have Been Here Yesterday" which showcases his versatility as a vocalist, pianist and songwriter.

In 1998, Martin performed a set of original compositions with his jazz quartet opening the 41st Annual Monterey Jazz Festival. In the 2009 Monterey Jazz Festival. Headman was featured with his Charles Brown Tribute Band. Martin was also featured at the Monterey Blues Festival in 1990, 1991, 2004 and 2009.
